Fab Find Friday: Scoutmob

Two weeks ago, Kyle and I drove into Atlanta to spend the weekend with some of our best friends from UGA, Andy and Jami. They just moved into a new house they're renting in Smyrna, and it definitely has a lot of character to it. {Jami wrote a blog post about it if you want to check it out!} We also got to see our other dear friends Rachel and Jason, who will soon be Mr. and Mrs. Smith this coming May. Yay!

Anyway, on Saturday we had a splendid adventure traversing Atlanta with the Homrichs and the Lord blessed us with the most perfect weather. I love being with old friends and being able to pick up right where you left off. Everything seems right with the world for a minute. We started our day at Piedmont Park, where surprisingly Kyle and I have never been, and if I can remember correctly Jami had never been either. We took only a few steps inside the park when we found the most delightful yellow tree, and of course couldn't pass up the photo op.

After playing in the park is where today's Fab Find comes in, because our day was so much better thanks to the super sweet deals offered by Scoutmob. Scoutmob is a website/app that offers discounts on local businesses in several metro areas all over the U.S., including Atlanta. For restaurants, they usually offer at least 50% off, and unlike Groupon, you don't have to pay ahead for the discount. You just get the coupon sent to your phone or print it out and voilĂ ! You save. It's definitely worth checking out, y'all.

So we had a 50% off lunch at Quattro, which is a pizza, panini and pasta place right near Piedmont Park. It was very yummy! We then moved on to have a 50% off dessert at Chocolate Pink, which is probably my new favorite place in Atlanta. It's a pastry cafe, specializing in super-delicious cupcakes and mini cakes. I myself got the appropriately titled "Chocolate Pink" mini cake, which was a genius combination of chocolate truffle mousse, chocolate buttermilk cake, chocolate ganache and a hazelnut cookie bottom. Hello heaven!

Kyle got the Caramel Apple Crumble Tart, which I know he really enjoyed. He's more into the hot apple thing than I am. The rest of the day pretty much revolved around food, as Andy and Jami took us to their Farmer's Market and Trader Joe's. We also stopped by some shops in Virginia Highlands, since there's nothing like glancing around unique boutiques. Once we got back to their house, we had some sausage chili that was cooking in the crock-pot all day and watched football, with a friendly card game of Nerts thrown in at the end. It was such a fun weekend, and if Andy and Jami were trying to sell living in Atlanta to us, then I'm sold! :)

  3. I'm glad that you're sold on Atlanta because I want you and Kyle to move back to the Atlanta area when Kyle finishes school. Life is TOO short to be so far away from the people that you love.....
