Our Labor Day Weekend

Happy Monday morning, y'all! Today let's rewind three weeks, back to that glorious Monday when we weren't at work/school.

We spent Labor Day Weekend this year at Kyle's parents' house in Forsyth, where exactly a year ago we were helping them move in. I can't believe they've already been at this new house for a year! We were especially excited about going to Forsyth since Kyle's sister, Jenny, was coming up to visit with her boyfriend, Zach, for the first time since Christmas! Needless to say we hit the road as soon as we could that Friday of LDW to make the two and a half hour drive from Augusta to Forsyth. Here's Doc posted up in his favorite spot in the Jeep, right between Mom & Dad :)

(And eww gross Kyle had a dirty 'stache going on in that picture due to a lost bet, which I promptly made him shave as soon as he could get his hands on a razor that night. I exercised my veto rights on that one!)

The next day, we spent the morning shooting clay pigeons at Cherokee Rose Sporting Resort, the first of many weekend activities Kyle's parents had planned for us. Despite the fact that I grew up in the south and have a dad and brother who both love to go hunting, this was my first time shooting a shotgun. And I didn't like it very much, so it will probably be my last as well!

First up was Kyle.

Next was Jenny's boyfriend Zach, who received a crash course from Mr. Fenton since this was also his first time shooting a shotgun.

When the guys were ready, they would yell "Pull!", and Mr. Fenton would press a button that made the clay pigeon fly in to the air. P.S. Notice the Franzia wine box we used to carry the boxes of bullets in. The Fentons are thrifty, I tell ya!

Next Jenny started things off for the ladies.

Then Mrs. Fenton took her turn.

I went after Kyle's Mom but there is sadly no pictorial record that I have ever shot a shotgun. Guess you'll have to trust me. :) After we all had our fill of shootin' stuff, we quickly changed into our red and black back at Kyle's parents' house and then headed to Atlanta for the UGA v. Boise State season opener. We all know how badly that game turned out, but it was still fun to be there and watch a game with Kyle's family.

Sunday we had plans to go sailing on Lake Jackson, but the rain kept us inside so we spent the day in our PJs watching movies instead. Fine by me! And then finally on Monday, we drove down to Warner Robins to visit with Kyle's aunts and uncles and grandparents. The weather was amazing so we all sat in lawn chairs outside while Kyle's dad grilled some steaks. We had a phenomenal Labor Day lunch!

Kyle with his Uncle Mark and cousin Maddie, who got back from Lake Sinclair just in time to stop by and say hey:

It came time for us to say goodbye way too soon, and we can't wait to see everyone again in a few short months when the holidays begin (yay!). So that was our Labor Day weekend, folks! Thanks for stickin' around while I blabbed on about it. Love y'all!

Fall Bucket List

Happy Fall, y'all! Don't you just love the changing of seasons? The seasons to me are such a beautiful representation of how God sustains us, literally and spiritually. He really is a creative God! Speaking of creativity, this weekend I would love to tackle some Fall craft projects, but I also have a house to clean so we'll see how that goes. (But wouldn't it be more fun to clean if it had cute Fall decorations? That's what I'm saying). In addition to that, here's what Kyle and I will (hopefully) be up to the next three months (click on the picture to make it bigger):

Fallspiration

I think I may have a new favorite season. I know I'm probably the last person to jump on the "OMG I'm so excited about Fall!" bandwagon in blogland, but I thought I'd still throw in my two cents and share with y'all all the reasons why I'm crushing on Fall right now (in no particular order).

And last but certainly not least...

I could go on and on! What do y'all love about Fall? Or if you're not a Fall kind of gal, what is your favorite season? I personally can't wait until it's cool enough to break out my scarves and boots. The high of 68 today gives me hope that it's just around the corner! Hope y'all have a great weekend!
