The Augusta Canal
One of our favorite places to go walking is The Augusta Canal, second only to the Savannah River Greenway. Last Friday Kyle and I decided to have a little date night there (with Doc in tow, of course). So we energized on some White Pizza with Shrimp for dinner and then headed over to the Savannah Rapids Pavillion where the Canal trail begins.
I snapped the photo below right before Doc was going to lick his face. Isn't he so attractive? Lady Weims, he's single! ;)
Standing on the bridge, this is the view of where The Augusta Canal begins:
Off to the right is a little cascading waterfall.
The Canal Bridge:
The Canal is a popular place to walk your dog, so we ran across plenty of other pooches while on the trail. Doc always gets this little smirk on his face whenever he sees another dog. It's so so cute.
We came across some interesting vegetation along the trail, but don't rely on me to tell you what they were. For example, this I would call a "pretty red thinggity."
And this I would call "elephant ear leaves."
I really like this picture of Doc and Kyle, especially since Doc is looking up at him. It's almost like he's saying, "Uh, you know I can't see over this wall, right Dad?"
The Canal Headgates:
On the other side of the wall is, obviously, the Savannah River. It was gorgeous at this time of day!
After a good hour of exercise, we loaded back up in the Jeep and Doc was happy as a clam!
Hope y'all have a great Wednesday!
